Long range forecast
The long-range forecast or seasonal forecast expresses weather conditions forecast for sliding periods over West Africa and the Sahel. This component includes climate forecasts of mean temperature at 2m and total rainfall with lead times of 1 to 2 months. It also contains consensus statements on regional forecasts; Interpretations, Evaluations and Verifications of JPC products; Evaluation reports; Verification datasets; Customized products; Evaluations of JRC products; and User feedbacks.
- Seasonal climate forecasts of mean temperature at 2m, total precipitation.
- Consensus seasonal forecasts : Consensus statement on regional forecasts (PRESAGG and PRESASS)
- Interpretation, Evaluation, Verification of CMP products for long-range multi-model ensemble forecasting.
- Monthly or quarterly evaluation report of the reliability and use of the products (average temperature at 2m., total rainfall) of the PMCs or lead centers.
- Produce audit data sets (PLE standardized audit system indicators, Brier comparison index, relative operating characteristics, success rate comparison index, etc.)
